Day Treatment
Admission Services
The prevention programs focus on promoting protective factors—that is, the characteristics of a student’s environment that can support healthy and positive youth development.
These protective factors can be implemented at a student’s home, community, and school. During the day treatment program, clients will develop themselves through Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prevention Education and many more.
Criteria
People can join our mental health day programs voluntarily. We accept referrals from mental health professionals, organizations, and you or your family. Our admissions counselors are happy to answer any questions about how we can help you or your loved one.
To be successful, clients must be fully involved in their recovery. This means committing to positive changes, such as taking prescribed medicine, attending individual and group therapy sessions, and practicing new skills and behaviors.
Adult Primary Criteria
To ensure the highest standard of care, adult clients must commit to a comprehensive and holistic treatment approach. We believe that recovery is a collaborative journey that requires active and sustained participation in all therapeutic activities. Prospective clients must meet the following primary criteria:
-
Age 18 or older: Our programs are specialized for adults who are ready to engage in a mature therapeutic environment focused on long-term wellness and independence.
-
Commitment to Medication Management: Active participation includes a willingness to follow prescribed medication protocols and maintain an open dialogue with our medical team regarding recommended adjustments to support clinical progress.
-
Diagnostic Alignment: Individuals should be diagnosed with one or more of the following conditions, where our holistic modalities have proven most effective in fostering recovery:
-
Depressive disorders (depression)
-
Bipolar disorder and other mood disorders
-
Schizophrenia spectrum disorders and other psychotic disorders
-
Borderline personality disorder and other disorders that can be treated using dialectical behavioral therapy
-
Co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders that meet criteria for participation in our Dual Diagnosis program
-
Anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic, and others)
-
-
Integrated Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders: We recognize the complexity of mental health and welcome clients with co-occurring diagnoses (e.g., substance use, PTSD, ADHD) who are motivated to address these challenges within our supportive framework, provided they do not meet exclusionary criteria.
-
Health and Safety Compliance: To maintain a safe community for all, clients must participate in preventative health measures, including providing proof of seasonal flu vaccination or receiving it upon admission as directed by the Holistic Elevation medical team.
Adult Exclusionary Criteria
Holistic Elevation is a voluntary, unlocked facility, and our clients must be willing and able to participate in group activities. Holistic Elevation does not accept applicants with one or more of the following diagnoses or presentations:
-
Significant cognitive impairment (Alzheimer's, dementia, intellectual disability, organic disorder)
-
Recent or ongoing violent behavior
-
Primary autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or co-occurring ASD that would prevent full participation in treatment. Patients who benefit most from our treatment programs can navigate various social situations, engage meaningfully in groups, independently manage a varying schedule on an open campus, and complete activities of daily living (ADLs) with limited support.
-
A primary substance use disorder or substance use requiring medical detoxification. If our admissions assessment determines that substance use disorder is the primary driver of current symptoms, clients may need to complete primary substance use treatment and achieve a period of sobriety before enrolling at Holistic Elevation for continued dual diagnosis care.
-
Current or persistent suicidal or homicidal behavior requiring 24/7 supervision in a locked facility to prevent harm to self or others. Many individuals with recurring thoughts of suicide or suicidal ideation may be safely supported at Holistic Elevation.
-
Recent or ongoing violent behavior
-
A primary eating disorder or current eating disorder behaviors
-
Primary diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder
-
Personality disorders not treated by one of our evidence-based modalities
Nicotine-Free Campus
Holistic Elevation is a 100% Nicotine-Free Campus. The Nicotine-Free Campus prohibits all smoking, vaping, and the use of all tobacco and nicotine products, except those approved for use in smoking cessation strategies. Clients who currently are using nicotine products at the time of admission are enrolled in the nicotine cessation program as part of their treatment. Clients receive support to quit using nicotine products, including peer support, education, and mindfulness groups; educational materials; support to obtain and use nicotine replacement products; and prescriptions for medications as indicated.

Using Your In-Network Insurance Benefits
We will ask your insurance company for approval before you start. If they approve, we will bill them directly. You will be responsible for paying any remaining costs, like co-pays, deductibles, or coinsurance, that your insurance doesn't cover. Please remember that insurance approval is not a guarantee of payment.
Using Your Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits
If we are not in-network with your insurance, you may still be able to get paid back for some costs. If you want to submit a claim yourself, we can provide an itemized bill that you can send to your insurance company.
